The-Ever-Important-Initial-Purpose-Post

So let me first list out all of my disclaimers:

1. I'm going to most-definitely use improper grammar and girlish slang and start most of my sentences with "so." Not because I'm illiterate or because I don't know how the English language works, but because I'm going to write this like I'm talking to someone. It's informal writing, people.

2. This is mostly just to gather my thoughts. I have to do a project for my Global Seminar class and I get to read a book on a topic of my choosing and give a presentation on how some aspect of globalization has helped/hurt people based on my findings. Fast fashion is fascinating (say that five times fast) and I've always wanted to learn more about how I can spend my money in a more caring way.

3. Getting feedback from people during this process is going to be a lot more fun than just keeping notes in a Google Doc. So with that, here we go.

PS: This will mostly be in reference to Elizabeth Cline's Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion, among other things. It's pretty good so far. Would recommend.
